Sri Mushnam - Sri Bhoovaraghaswamy Temple

The temple is faced towards the west direction. Even from a long distance, one can see the Raja Gopuram, which is about 120 feet high with 7 Nilays (parts). In front of the Raja Gopuram, a gigantic 40 feet Garuda Sthambham found in this sthalams.

As we go on, we can see Andal Sannadhi, Udayavar, and Venugopalan Sannadhi. A small Sannadhi for Kuzhandai Amman is also found. People who need for childbirth, if they visit this Amman Sannadhi it is believed that they get the child. As we more on further, we can see the Sannadhis of Vishwaksenar, Vedanta Desika, Thirumangai Alwar Manavaala Maa Munigal and Thirkkaccha Nambigal. On the South direction of the Kodi Maram, we can see a separate Sannadhi of Nammalwar. On the southwest direction, one can see the separate Sannadhi of Sri Ambujavalli Thaayar in Irundha (sitting) Thirukkolam.

As we move on further, we can reach the Moolavar Sannadhi and in front of the Sannadhi we can see a Mandapam, which looks like a chariot, and lots of artistic works are seen in this mandapam.

Sri Mushnam Temple Gopuram As we more on to the Moolavar Sannadhi, we can see Bhoovarahar in Nindra thirukkolam facing his thirumugham towards south direction. Even though his thirumugham is faced towards south direction, his thirumeni (body) is facing along the west direction, and this is one of the rare thirukkolam of the Perumal. On his hip, he grounds his hands and Sangu and Chakkaram is found. And towards his thiruvadi, Sri Devi and Bhooma Devi are found. The Moolavar thirumeni is made of Saligramam. In the Artha Mandapam, the utsavar Yagna Varahamurthy along with two Naachiyars are found.

On the Northwest direction, we can see the Sannadhi of Sri Ramar and on the west, a small Sannadhi for Anjaneyar is found.

In Nithya Pushkarani, theerthavaari utsavam for the Swamy is done. It is believed that this Pushkarani is said to be the sweat drops of Sri Varahar when he took Bhoomi Devi from the deep sea. And during Chitthira Pournami as the varam given to Indiran, if is said that all the 3 crore divine theerthams, mixed together in this Pushkarani and is said that if a person who takes bath in this sthalams on this day, all of his sorrows gets vanished and will lead a great life. On the southeast direction of this Pushkarani, the Arasa tree is found which is said to be the sthala Maram (tree) of this sthalams.

The Vimaanam of this sthalam is Prakrutha vimaanam.
